There seems to be a memory leak or something because after playing for like 15 minutes it froze and crashed my whole PC.
Also I don't know how you're tracking the character position, but there's something that needs to be fixed. Currently the enemies can just walk off screen and become invisible until they walk back into the game field again.
Also I dont quite understand what I'm taking damage from. Is it just general passive damage intake? If so, then the first boss having a big AoE attack doesnt make sense if you're going to also increase the passive damage intake significantly. Just makes the game unnecessarily grindy.
I guess the chat feature is for some people and I see it in a lot of games, but it should be an option just to ignore it and keep playing until I'm ready to go into the chat menu and click 'skip'. Being forced to do that every few levels is just annoying and doesnt really bring any value to the experience.
I like the concept and would like to see more in the future but there are just so many odd things that I cant really tell if this is supposed to be a serious project or not. Especially seeing how this is named 'Demo' and having a Patreon up to support developement already just doesnt convince me put together with what the demo has to offer as of right now.

Regarding damage, there's passive hp decay and retaliation damage from the enemies, the intent is to pressure you to upgrade different stats (dmg, health, regen, armor) otherwise you could farm enemies forever.
Also I agree that the narrative part interrupts gameplay too much, it's something I have been iterating on, it will most likely change as I add more content.
